I struggle with man cards.  I love flowers and lace and pink and purple, so I have to put that all aside to make a man card.  I feel out of my element, not quite comfortable in my skin. I feel my hands get clammy, my eyes blur slightly and my head starts to throb…..

Then I figure out I can use the Seaside Shore set with coordinating Designer Paper and be very happy.

The colors are subtle, but not too much so. The two different papers from the DSP pack were matted with Calypso Coral and then I fussy-cut fish from the DSP to swim in the “water.”  The colors here are Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla.  A piece of Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine is wrapped around the card to finish the look.

Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the rescue again!  The Truly Tailored stamp set has several masculine sentiments. such as the one you see here, but it is the True Gentleman DSP that steals the show, when coupled with the Tailored Tag Punch, which pulls the entire look together.  I just punched out different papers from the DSP pack and matted with Night of Navy card stock.  The Night of Navy was also punched with the Tailored Tag Punch, but sliced horizontally in the middle and splayed, to give a top and bottom border on each of the DSP pieces.

The entire ensemble was matted with a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock and the Navy Corduroy Ribbon completes the card.  The center stamped image is raised up with Dimensionals.

This is an easy card for a workshop or a Make ‘n Take…. and the man in your life will love it!

Sadly, this Moon Lake set is retired.  With a stencil I die-cut with the Ovals Framelits, I sponged the inside of the oval with Marina Mist on the top 3/4 and a little bit of Sahara Sand on the bottom 1/4. Then, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image, which includes the tree, the boat, a little ocean behind and sand in front. All that is left is to color the tree (Pear Pizzazz Marker, with dabs of Garden Green Marker), the tree trunk (Early Espresso), the boat (Crumb Cake), the ocean (Marina Mist) and the stone in front of the boat (Smoky Slate) were all colored with Markers. The sky and the sand are already colored.

The whole panel gets adhered to a Marina Mist base and the frame was created from four 5/8″ strips of the Wood Textures DSP, the corners mitered and taped together on the backside. The frame was then raised with Dimensionals, which give it a genuine framed look.

All three of these cards are suitable for birthday, Father’s Day, male get well, male friend or male just because.

Thanks for looking!
