I always have trouble with “man” cards. I tend to gravitate to the fussy, frilly, blingy cards. So around this time of year, when it’s close to Father’s Day, I am forced to dig deep and look at my stamp sets differently.
This is a retired stamp set called Love You More, probably designed around Valentine’s Day. But I looked at this globe and the “you mean the world to me” sentiment and thought – aha! a man card.
The base is Very Vanilla, with a Basic Black mat. The background paper is from Typeset Designer Series Paper, which is all Basic Black and Very Vanilla and has a couple of pages with old-fashioned maps within the pack.
The globe was stamped first in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, to get the sentiment at the bottom, which is attached to the globe. Then I hot embossed the globe onto Vanilla card stock, using VersaMark and Black Embossing Powder. The heart in the middle of Africa was colored with Real Red Marker. Then I fussy-cut the embossed globe and popped it up with Dimensionals onto another piece of Vanilla with a Black mat.
Add a little red ribbon and a “man” card it is! Easy peasy.
Thanks for looking,
Carole
