Work of Art is a stamp set that is so versatile and so useful, it has become my new “go to” stamp set when I can’t think of another thing to make.

I did this card entirely using the In Colors from 2014-2016, so on the left margin I used the same “squiggle” in the Work of Art stamp set in the colors, from top to bottom: Tangelo TwistHello HoneyMossy MeadowLost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss.  These colors are so bold that this card could be for a man’s birthday, thank you or Father’s Day.

The oval “palette” is made from the Ovals Framelits and the center hold is a 1/2″ Circle Punch, while the little cut-out in the palette is one end of the Word Window Punch. Then, each of the colors is punched again with that 1/2″ Circle Punch and placed around the palette. Notice the brush “handle” has been stamped with the Hardwood Background Stamp and can you tell the brush “tip” is a bird wing from the Bird Punch?  I punched another bird wing in Mossy Meadow and then trimmed it with a decorative scissors to give it a ragged edge.

The base is Whisper White, with a mat of Lost Lagoon and the stamped design is on another layer of Whisper White.  Of course, this card could work in any color combination and just demonstrated the versatility of this stamp set.

Talk about versatility…. Here’s another card using the same stamp set for a completely different look.  The Whisper White card base has a mat of Pool Party.  The pretty floral strip of paper on the left is from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The colors from that DSP are duplicated on the Deco Labels Collection Framelit shape on Whisper White, using ink colors Daffodil Delight, Rose Red, Pool Party, and Wild Wasabi and pairing those delicious colors with the very fun images in the Work of Art set.  The deepest color, Blackberry Bliss was saved for the sentiment in the middle, “You are a fabulous work of art.”  The same Deco Label framelit size was duplicated in Blackberry Bliss card stock and cut in half, to “frame” the stamped piece.  See it peeking out from behind the stamped piece on both sides.  Add a couple of Basic Rhinestones and you have a lovely card, perfect for a birthday, thinking of you, thank you or congratulatory card.

Thank you for looking!
