Stampin’ Up has had some lovely botanical stamps for the holidays, but this one, Ornamental Pine, with the long needle pine and pine cone is a fave.
The base is Very Vanilla, with a mat of Old Olive and another mat of Real Red. Then the images are stamped on a layer of Very Vanilla.
The main image of the long needle pine is colored with markers right on the rubber, using Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Markers. After that, the pine cone image is stamped, inked in Early Espresso, right over the pine needles, as pine cones do grow that way.
The ornament was stamped in VersaMark and hot-embossed with a glittery red embossing powder that is non Stampin’ Up. Then the ornament is fussy cut and a piece of Linen Thread is tied in a tiny bow and attached with a Glue Dot. The ornament is popped up with Dimensionals.
After all is done, the pine cone image is dotted with Crystal Effects, which made it stand out and look almost three-dimensional. It’s hard to see here, but I followed the pine spines and left open spaces with the Crystal Effects between the spines to be more realistic and almost 3-D.
Thanks for looking,
