This cheery card has some intrigue in that it’s not the usual open-up card. The top flap lifts up and the blue flap on the bottom drops down and the message is on the inside of both those pieces.
The top candles are actually stamped from the Tape It stamp set, stamped tone on tone (blue ink on blue card stock, red on red and orange on yellow. Trim the “candles” and cut one end at an angle. The flames are from the Build-a-Bird Punch wing, punched out of Daffodil Delight and sponged around the edges with Tangerine Tango ink. The candles are adhered directly to the Whisper White card piece, but the flames are popped up with Dimensionals. Add a simple knot of 1/8″ Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, wrapped around the back and adhered. Add that White piece to the Daffodil Delight card stock.
The Real Red card stock is stamped with Real Red ink and the Positively Chevron background stamp. The Pacific Point card stock is stamped with the Birthday Candles jumbo rolling wheel, again tone on tone.
Then the Daffodil piece is adhered to the Real Red piece to just be “framed” by the red on top and blue on the bottom.
This is a perfect “man” birthday card or even a kid birthday card.
