See the lovely mottled background? That is called the Polished Stone Technique. It is very fun, easy and every single background comes out a little different.
Take a large cotton ball and soak it pretty well with 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. It should not be dripping, but will be very wet. Take any color combination of reinkers (this one is Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding) and drop several drops of each color reinker onto the alcohol-soaked cotton ball.
Then, daub the reinker/alcohol-soaked cotton ball on GLOSSY cardstock (it doesn’t work the same way with regular cardstock). Cover it complete or leave white spots open, it marbles and dries looking mottled, as you see. When it’s dry, finish with a piece of Kleenex tissue by “buffing” it shiny again. Add any embellishments you wish. This has dyed Simply Pressed clay flowers, dyed white satin ribbon and Four Frames stamp set, with a message from Teeny Tiny Wishes and.punched with the Decorative Label Punch.
This card uses Island Indigo and Crisp Cantaloupe, same technique.

And this technique uses hot embossing (in white) and it’s called Magic Snowflake Technique. You do the hot embossing (this uses Delicate Doilies) FIRST on the glossy card stock. Then apply the Polished Stone Technique. Wisteria Wonder and Pistachio Pudding are the background here, with dyed Simply Pressed clay flowers to the centers of the doily. Message from Label Love and punched with the Artisan Label Punch.
